Pontiac G6 Safety

The array of safety options available in your Pontiac G6 will depend largely on the year and the trim level. The later models came with side-curtain airbags—these were optional until 2008. Since 2005, though, the G6 came standard with daytime running lights and anti-lock brakes (ABS) to avoid skidding. Add-ons for the Pontiac G6 include: 

• Front side airbags
• OnStar in-vehicle emergency assistance service 
• Electronic Stability Control (ESC) to prevent skidding

Some may be disappointed with the Pontiac G6's performance in NHTSA (National Highway Transportation Safety Administration) crash tests. This is especially true for the Side Impact Test and Rear Crash Protection/Head Restraint test.   

Pontiac G6 Interior

The interior of the Pontiac G6 is defined by smooth lines, chrome gauges and solid switch gears. Some drivers have complained that the use of lower-end plastics prevents the car from achieving a premium feel. For those who value affordability over aesthetics, however, it will be a worthwhile tradeoff. In all, air conditioning were standard.   

Pontiac G6 Technology

The Pontiac G6 offers a limited range of technological features to match its affordable price tag, but there are a few nice surprises. This includes Cruise Control and Keyless Entry, which came standard even in its very first 2005 model. A couple of add-ons will keep your toes tapping while you drive. The AM/FM stereo with CD changer seems to be best for the old-school music lover while the XM Satelite Radio with 150 channels is better if you value choice. 

Pontiac G6 Space

Despite its mid-size body, the Pontiac G6 offers no shortage of cabin space. For most body styles, the vehicle can seat up to five people comfortably, making it a perfect shared commuter car. Although some drivers suggest that the vehicle offers less trunk space than comparable mid-size cars, the 60/40 split rear seats can fold down to accommodate more cargo on the fly. 

Pontiac G6 Comfort

With its responsive engine and athletic handling, Pontiac G6 is a satisfying car to drive. Though, you may find earlier models less impressive than there newer counterparts due to a smaller engine. For example, the 2008 coupe and sedan featured a 3.5 L V6 engine, while the 2006 model featured a more modest 2.4 L V4 engine. Later models added extra perks to make your driving experience a fun one. Power height adjustment for the driver's seat and a tilting and telescoping steering column allow you to personalize your driving experience.
