Audi S4 Safety

The Audi S4 receives consistently high annual safety rankings. Since the first models, airbags on all sides have protected passengers riding in the front or back seat. In models produced since 2017, safety features include Pre Sense Front and Emergency Braking to help prevent front collisions. On higher trim levels, options include:

• Rear-End Collision Alert Signal (RECAS) to avoid rear-end collisions
• Side Assist blind-spot monitoring to make lane changes safer.
• Active Lane Assist  to keep the car in the middle of its own lane
• Adaptive Cruise Assist to keep a safe distance from other cars

Models from 2010 come standard with stability and traction control as well as antilock brakes—which collectively help to reduce the chances of skidding—and front-side and side-curtain airbags.
 

Audi S4 Interior

All generations are known for high-quality, comfortable interiors with air conditioning and power windows as standard equipment. Interior design is simple, but optional two-tone colour schemes are available to liven up the look. Audi started offering heated front seats in the first generation, and the latest generation of 2018 and 2019 models has optional heated/power/massaging front seats.

All Audi S4s are fitted with Recaro seats, which are designed to provide support and comfort whether you are on a Sunday cruise or out for a drive at high speeds.
 

Audi S4 Technology

The multimedia systems in early models of the S4 were known for being too complicated, but the optional tech features in models produced after 2017 are easy to use. These include:

• Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
• GPS, which uses Google Earth
• Bang & Olufsen multimedia audio
• Bluetooth connectivity
• Auxiliary input and USB ports
• 7-inch to 8.3-inch monitor, depending on the trim level
• Park Assist system with rearview camera to help you manoeuvre out of those tight spaces

Older models, such as from 2009 onward, offer Bluetooth, satellite radio, a six-CD changer and a 10-speaker sound system as standard.

Audi S4 Space

Audi says that the S4 seats five, but the back seat is realistically only spacious enough for two adults. Because of the sleek body design of the S4 through all three generations, it has a low roofline. As a result, taller passengers may have difficulty even getting into the back seat. In the 2018 and 2019 models, the trunk measures 12.4 cubic feet, which is average for a car this size. With the back seat folded down, the available cargo space becomes a very useful 34 cubic feet. 

Audi S4 Comfort

The Audi S4 is a smooth and relaxing car to drive at any speed. The adaptive suspension uses sensors and microprocessors to adjust itself along with changing road conditions. Since 2008, Audi has offered a rear axle sport differential, which splits the torque on each back wheel. This results in easier handling, leading to better cornering and an overall more comfortable ride.
