Audi TT Safety

Earlier Audi TTs like the 2005 come with standard safety gear such as traction and electronic stability control and anti-lock braking system to optimize grip and keep wheels from locking. Front airbags deploy at speeds to maximize protection and minimize injury. Additional safety features in later generations, from around 2015, include:

• Standard side, knee and head airbags
• Protective roll hoops, available in the Audi TT convertible 
• Optional rear parking sensors to guide you in and out of tight spots without a scratch

Audi TT Interior

Front seating in the Audi TT is typical of many sports cars, with low-slung leather bucket seats that can be customized with heaters. The Audi TT coupe version has folding front seats to access an additional two spots in the back, though some drivers find the rear space too limited for passengers to move around comfortably. The standard interior trims have been described as industrial, innovative, smart and sophisticated—aesthetic values that distinguish the TT.

Audi TT Technology

With a 20-year production run, technology has certainly changed in the TT. The earliest generations beginning in the 2000s offered an AM/FM stereo with a tape cassette deck and optional six-disk CD player. In 2016, Audi added the MMI infotainment system controlled using touchscreen or even by handwriting as standard. Audi's quattro all-wheel drive, optional on this vehicle, boosts power and traction. Other modern tech that's standard from 2016 includes:

• Navigation system
• Bose speakers
• Sirius satellite radio
• Bluetooth and cabled device connectivity
• Voice controls

Audi TT Space

While the Audi TT is not a car you buy if practicality is your number-one consideration, the slanted hatchback roof offers easy access to rear cargo space. The cargo hatch is just shy of 14 cubic feet of storage, but that can increase to almost 25 cubic feet with the rear seats lowered. The Audi TT convertible is strictly a two-seater, with cargo room reduced to less than 8 cubic feet to accommodate a retracted roof. Most drivers describe the front seats of the cabin as having more-than-adequate space.

Audi TT Comfort

In its first generation (1998-2006), some felt the exterior design promised more than the standard engine package could deliver in terms of driving experience. A beefed-up engine in later generations better matched the stylish design. Early Audi TT coupes are available only with manual transmission but, in later model years, automatic transmission options become more prevalent. Many drivers prefer the engine in newer models for performance reasons. The quality of the ride improved after a 2008 redesign and 2012 update, which removed stiffness from the suspension but kept up snappy handling.
