BMW M6 Safety

Throughout its long production run, the BMW M6's standard and optional safety features have evolved considerably. Older models were well-equipped with standard safety specs, such as emergency braking assist and adaptive headlights. By the 2012 refresh, plenty of driver's aids became available, including:

• Lane-departure warning
• Parking sensors
• Blind spot monitoring
• Rearview camera
• Pedestrian detection

When buying new, drivers have the option to add safety packages with additional functions. A remote anti-theft alarm and interior trunk release are standard, as well as several driver and passenger airbags.

BMW M6 Interior

True to its luxury status, the BMW M6 has a rich interior that's loaded with high-end materials and comfort-driven features. Its M status means it comes with sportier finishes, like a thick steering wheel and cockpit-style dashboard. In 2010, the wood trim and centre console were replaced with sleek black and metallic materials. Heated seats and steering wheel are standard. The latest models include a rearview camera and a power driver's seat (on the two-door convertible), so passengers can easily get in and out of the back.

BMW M6 Technology

No matter what model year, the BMW M6 is loaded with contemporary high-tech features. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto arrived in 2019, but prior to that, drivers could hook up their smartphones wirelessly through Bluetooth or USB. A navigation system and satellite radio have been available since the 2006 models. A premium sound system is optional. In 2017, BMW incorporated its iDrive controller to the 10.2" touchscreen. WiFi and a wireless phone charger also became available that year.

BMW M6 Space

The driver and front-row passenger seats are designed for comfort and support, offering up to 20 power adjustments. Front-row space in the convertible, two-door and four-door options are ample for passengers of all sizes. For practicality's sake, the four-door BMW M6 Gran Coupe offers more back seat space for passengers, while the two-door coupe and convertible are a bit snug. In keeping with the coupe's style, even four-door models limit passenger capacity to four. All models feature a roomy trunk.

BMW M6 Comfort

Drivers are cushioned from the road with supportive, comfortable seating. With engine options like a V10 and a twin-turbo V8, you can feel the power when you accelerate. The overall size and weight of the BMW M6 Gran Coupe can make the car feel heavy and difficult to manuever through tight spaces. However, the automatic transmission is especially responsive, and drivers can select various driving modes for different weather and road conditions.
