Chevrolet Monte Carlo Safety

The Monte Carlo's safety features may be a little lacking compared to other vehicles in its class. However, all models have duel-stage front airbags and optional side-impact ones, while other safety features across later model years include:

• Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) to prevent loss of traction during emergency braking (from 1999)
• Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children (LATCH) child seat attachments
• High-intensity headlights
• Remote keyless entry with a secondary panic function, in latest models only
• Security system,  which prevents the engine from starting if the wrong key is used (from 1999) 
• OnStar with a variety of features including a hands-free calling, navigation assistance in later models

Chevrolet Monte Carlo Interior

The Chevrolet Monte Carlo is known for its spacious interior. It can comfortably seat five adults, unlike many other cars in its class. Each model and trim level comes with power windows, power locks and power driver seats. Single zone climate control is available at the base level. Upgrading to the LT option gives you dual-zone air conditioning and steering-wheel mounted audio controls. Heated seats and leather upholstery are available at the SS level. 

Chevrolet Monte Carlo Technology

Production of the Chevrolet Monte Carlo ended in 2007, so it lacks some advanced technological features. Despite this, there's still enough to make for an entertaining drive if you opt for the later models, such a the 2006 and 2007:

All models from 2000 are equipped with more than just the basics, as they come standard with air conditioning, tilt steering wheel so you can adjust it to your preference, dimming interior lighting and a tire-pressure monitor.

Chevrolet Monte Carlo Space

Even as a sports coupe, the Chevrolet Monte Carlo has a ton of cargo space. Later models offer 15.8 cubic feet of space, which exceeds most other cars in its class. The 60/40 rear folding seats offer versatility and additional space when you need it.

The cabin itself is spacious, with seating for five. Some passengers may find getting into the rear seats difficult, as the car is a two-door coupe. Once everyone’s seated though, there’s enough leg and headroom to comfortably seat three adults in the back. 

Chevrolet Monte Carlo Comfort

Later models are universally praised for their smooth handling and engine power. Drivers can choose from a V6 or V8 engine. Either way, you can count on the car to accelerate fast and perform well. Precise steering and smooth braking add to the car’s appeal. The suspension features stiff spring rates and large stabilizer bars, guaranteeing a smooth ride at all speeds.
