The Ram 3500 comes loaded with safety features both inside and out—particularly models from 2018. Though, the very first model year—2011—does come with antilock disc brakes, which keep the car from skidding, and side curtain airbags. Essential safety features on the latest models include the ParkView Rear Back-Up Camera, which gives drivers an unobstructed rearward view while they back up. It also offers front and rear parking assistance (through the Park-Sense system) to keep the vehicle untouched in tight parking situations. 

Since this is a heavy-duty pickup, it also includes safety features for drivers towing cargo. The 3500’s standard Electronic Stability Control (ESC), available on model years from 2014 onwards, helps compensate for extra weight while towing, even when hauling cargo up hills.

Additionally, the 3500’s cameras also allow drivers to keep an eye on their cargo in the bed, and the Rear Back-Up Camera—which you'll find on models from 2012—also uses dynamic grid lines to guide drivers into trailer hookups or other tight parking spots.

The Ram 3500's spacious and well-equipped interior is both comfortable and functional. All models feature comfortable seating and ample storage (including dual-level glove boxes), and specific models feature additional options, such as the Mega Cab’s flat-folding rear seats and the Crew Cab models’ removable and insulated storage bins. Meanwhile, the UConnect Multimedia Centre controls the vehicle's temperature control, music and more.

Of course, interior comfort does not account for much if the ride is bumpy, and this is where the 3500’s impressive showing might fall a bit short. Even though the 3500’s V8 gas and turbocharged diesel engines pack a punch and offer immense towing power, the truck’s heavy-duty suspension can result in a rougher ride. Potential purchasers should ask themselves which ranks higher on their list of priorities: power or on-the-road comfort.
