Ford Edge Safety

On the 2019, traction control, curve control and Ford's premium electronic stability system, AdvancTrac® with Roll Stability Control (RSC®), all monitor and keep the car moving safely. Ford's driver assistance technology package, Ford Co-Pilot360™ includes:

• Pre-collision assist with brake support, which stops the car when it detects an impending collision
• Blind spot warning, a radar for any vehicles coming up on your side
• Cross-traffic alert, useful when backing up out of your driveway
• Lane-keeping assist warns if you’re drifting, although some drivers find this feature intrusive

A rearview camera comes standard in newer models, and older models from 2010 come equipped with an impressive array of standard safety equipment, such as antilock disc brakes and stability control to help prevent skidding, blind spot mirrors and front-seat and full-length side curtain airbags.

Ford Edge Interior

The Edge is designed to give you a place for everything you need to bring on the road. Chargers, cup and map holders, an overhead console and a storage tray on the front console keep clutter out of your way. Thick roof pillars, which can affect visibility, are one design flaw noted by some drivers. The 2019 Edge has a range of interior options depending on the trim you choose, such as:

• Heated front seats
• Dual-zone climate control
• 10-way, power-adjustable driver and front passenger seats for a perfect fit
• Bang; Olufsen audio system for an immersive listening environment

Ford Edge Technology

Be on the lookout for voice-activated controls with Ford SYNC and, on the Limited or Titanium trims and above, an 8-inch infotainment display. Other technologies you'll find on recent models include: 

• Keyless entry and push-button start 
• Optional park assist helps you to parallel park, get out of a tight spot or back into a standard parking spot
• USB charging ports—available on all trims in recent years, with some trims offering wireless charging pads 

On older models such as 2010, you can find an optional panoramic sunroof, remote start, a DVD entertainment system in the backseat and a voice-activated navigation system. 

Ford Edge Space

The Edge has generous cargo space: On the latest model, for example, there is 39 cubic feet or more than 73 cubic feet with the rear seats down. A foot-activated liftgate makes it easy to access the cargo area when your hands are full. The Edge is a two-row, five-seat vehicle with no option for adding a third row. However, passengers have plenty of room in both the front and back rows. If you have a lot of gear to move, the optional towing package can handle loads up to 3,500 pounds.

Ford Edge Comfort

The driver’s seat has an optional memory feature, which is helpful if more than one person drives the car. For cold days, a heated steering wheel is available. The adaptive cruise control option lets the driver enjoy the ride during a long trip—the car automatically keeps pace with the flow of traffic. Drivers also take control of their ride with the option to switch from all-wheel drive to front-wheel drive as they prefer.
