Hyundai Sonata Summary
The Hyundai Sonata is a family-friendly mid-size sedan that is popular for its abundance of safety and technological features as well as its roomy cabin. All models are available with automatic transmission, with newer vehicles offering six-speed automatic as standard. Trims on offer include a basic SE trim, an Eco trim for increased fuel efficiency and a luxury Limited option. Take a look at the hybrid model if you’re prioritizing fuel economy. The base engine might not be the most powerful in its class, but the Hyundai Sonata is hard to beat when it comes to comfort, reliability and convenience.

The Hyundai Sonata is packed out with a wealth of safety technologies. Standard features included with models since 2007 include:
- Four-wheel anti-lock braking system and brake assist to maintain steering control and prevent skidding

Some drivers might find the Hyundai Sonata’s interior style a little low-key. What's undeniable, however, is the car's abundance of convenience features—many of which are available as standard with all models. Any Hyundai Sonata produced from 2007 onward comes with the following:

The Hyundai Sonata’s technology is user-friendly and extensive. All models from 2008 onward come with a USB port and auxiliary input jack. Models produced since 2012 offer a hands-free infotainment and communications system to connect you to your music, contacts, apps, GPS or roadside assistance via a 7-inch display screen. High-end trims offer an 8-inch touchscreen display. Later models also offer Bluetooth capability and smartphone streaming.
Hyundai Sonata Space
The Hyundai Sonata seats five adults comfortably and is considered particularly spacious compared to other vehicles in its class. The hybrid model’s trunk is slightly smaller than its standard counterpart, but both have abundant cargo space at more than 16 cubic feet.
Hyundai Sonata Comfort
Air-conditioning is provided with all models as standard, with select trims offering dual-zone climate control to adjust temperatures separately for passengers. Some drivers find that the low roof height can get in the way of rear seat access. Lumbar support control for the driver is optional, which is great if you're looking to improve your posture. Another convenient feature is the front reading lamp—that comes standard in newer models.
