Mazda 6 Safety

As far back at its 2009 models, the Mazda6 is equipped with important safety features like:

• Multiple airbags—front/rear head airbags and front side airbags on both driver and passenger sides
• Child safety features such as door safety locks and an on/off switch for passenger airbags
• Traction Control and Electronic Stability Control for reduced risk of accidents and more grip in low-friction road conditions
• Emergency Trunk Release, which allows you to open the trunk from the inside in case doors are blocked in an emergency
• Four-wheel antilock braking system, reducing the risk of skidding

Higher trim levels on 2014 models offer safety features such as forward collision warning and rear cross traffic alert, keeping you safe from other road users. 2016+ models include standard brake assist, helping you stop quickly in the event of an impending collision.

Mazda 6 Interior

Even in earlier models, Mazda6’s exterior and interior design is modern and pleasing to the eye. Base models include air conditioning and electric windows. Heated front seats are standard in all 2016+ trims and optional for all other generations. 

Mazda 6 Technology

Pre-2015, many of the technology features of the Mazda6, such as the touchscreen infotainment system and back-up camera, were only available as optional add-ons. These became standard for all trims since 2015. The interface has been praised for its user-friendly nature.

Other tech options include:

• Push-button start, GPS, rain-sensing wipers and Bluetooth for Apple/Android integration (2009+ trims)
• USB connectivity for charging mobile devices (2015+ trims)

Mazda 6 Space

The Mazda6’s cabin and trunk are more spacious than similar sedans. Despite limited headroom in the rear seats, there is a decent amount of legroom in the back, and front seat headroom is impressive. The already large trunk can also be expanded by folding down the 60/40 split back seat to accommodate larger items.

Mazda 6 Comfort

Although all-wheel drive is not available, the Mazda6 handles well on a range of surfaces. The height of the driver’s seat is adjustable and includes manual adjustable lumbar support in 2011+ Touring and higher trims for a more comfortable driving experience. Additionally, cruise control is standard in all models—an excellent asset for highway use and longer journeys. Mazda6 comes with a 5-speed shiftable automatic, so those making the switch from manual transmission cars will appreciate the added control in their transition.
