The Acura MDX is a mid-size seven-seater luxury crossover SUV which first went on sale in the year 2000. Now in its fourth model generation, the Acura MDX was the first vehicle in its segment to come with three rows of seating. The Acura MDX launched with a 3.5-litre gas V6 engine featuring Honda's VTEC technology paired with a 5-speed automatic transmission. The original Acura MDX featured automatic four-wheel drive, which was replaced by Acura's Super Handling All-Wheel Drive system for the second generation's launch in 2007. The second-generation Acura MDX grew in size while its engine was enlarged to 3.7 litres.

The third-generation Acura MDX debuted in 2014 with a hybrid model available for the first time, as well as a choice of 6-, 7-, or 9-speed automatic gearboxes based on trim level. Canadian-market vehicles all came with all-wheel drive, while a front-wheel drive version was available in the US. The third-generation Acura MDX featured refinements to the interior, aerodynamics, handling, and crash protection. The fourth-generation Acura MDX launched in 2021 with luxury features like a digital instrument cluster and panoramic sunroof, better head and legroom, and a 10-speed automatic transmission to aid efficiency.
