The optional 2.8-litre V6 was replaced by a 3.0-litre engine, offering 220 horsepower for the second generation. Modern technology like Bluetooth and backup cameras were added in the following years, while power and vehicle dimensions continued to climb. Lightweight aluminum suspension components further improved the Audi A4 handling. Styling continued to be refined in line with Audi's other vehicles. In the most recent generation of Audi A4, the vehicle's infotainment capabilities have been further upgraded with Audi's "Virtual Cockpit" architecture which replaces analog dials behind the steering wheel with a single screen capable of showing revs, speed, navigation and other useful information.
