The Honda Ridgeline is a mid-size pickup truck that made its debut in 2006. Differing from the construction of other trucks in its class, the Honda Ridgeline features a unibody in contrast with the more common body-on-frame setup. Using a strengthened version of the drivetrain from the Acura MDX, the Ridgeline features a transversely mounted 250-horsepower 3.5-litre V6 engine. Full independent suspension gives the Ridgeline car-like handling characteristics, and every iteration features a crew cab body. A lockable in-bed trunk is one of the Ridgeline's unique features, and it is available with front- or all-wheel drive.
Second-generation Honda Ridgeline
The second-generation Honda Ridgeline debuted in 2017 with an increased use of ultra-high-strength steel in its construction. This serves to give it a more rigid structure and helps it score well in crash testing. The 3.5-litre V6 returns, though it now makes 280 horsepower backed up by a six-speed automatic transmission with an optional nine-speed. Like the first generation, it offers a choice of front- or all-wheel drive and comes with a crew cab. Safety features were upgraded for the second generation, with a range of driver-assist technologies like forward-collision warning and automatic braking available.
