Audi Q5 for sale

The Audi Q5 debuted in 2008 bringing Audi's famous quattro four-wheel drive system to the compact luxury crossover market. The Audi Q5 launched with a 3.2 litre V6 engine before a 2.0-litre inline 4-cylinder became available in 2011. The 3.2-litre engine came with Audi's 6-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission as standard with a faster-shifting 7-speed S tronic gearbox optional. The 2.0-litre 4-cylinder came with an 8-speed version of the Tiptronic transmission as standard, and the quattro system remained engaged permanently, unlike the version installed on the second-generation Audi Q5.

Updates for a new generation

The second-generation Audi Q5 made its North American debut in 2018 featuring styling updates with the high-performance Audi SQ5 variant also available. As standard the Audi Q5 comes with a 2.0-litre inline 4-cylinder, while the SQ5 is powered by a turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 with 354 horsepower. The quattro system installed on the second-generation Q5 has the ability to decouple the rear axle under cruising conditions to maximize fuel efficiency, automatically sensing when more grip or better acceleration is needed. The Audi SQ5's quattro system is permanently four-wheel drive, with power biased towards the rear axle for sharper handling.
