Toyota RAV 4 for sale

It could be argued that the undeniably growing popularity of compact crossover SUVs all started with the Toyota RAV4. As the first of its kind, the Toyota RAV4 was revolutionary, a vehicle that blended the convenience of an SUV with the manoeuvrability of a compact car. The original version debuted in 1994 with the name being an abbreviation of Recreational Active Vehicle with four-wheel drive. Ironically, not all Toyota RAV4 come equipped with four-wheel drive, but as the most popular SUV sold by Toyota, it's generally easy to find in a wide range of prices.

Toyota RAV4 features

A sleeker alternative to many modern SUV options, the compact Toyota RAV4 places practicality above heavy performance. In comparison to the larger Toyota Highlander, the Toyota RAV4 is considered a much more versatile machine while maintaining some of the off-road capabilities that its bigger brother offers. The family-friendly vehicle sports a favourable safety rating while remaining relatively pleasant in manoeuvrability. Additionally, Toyota RAV4 hybrid options are celebrated as being more fuel-efficient than its competition. With a price tag on the low end, the Toyota RAV4 makes sacrifices with a lack-lustre interior and low-end technology, but upmarket options can make the interior plusher.

The many variants of the Toyota RAV4

The Toyota RAV4 is currently in its fifth generation, with fourth-generation versions produced as late as 2019. There are several engine variants available for the latest models, including five gasoline versions and four hybrid options. The fourth-generation models offered three diesel varieties. The five-door Toyota RAV4 can come outfitted with a six-speed or an eight-speed automatic transmission.
