The Mazda CX-5 is a compact crossover SUV that made its debut for the 2013 model year. The CX-5 makes use of Mazda's Skyactiv design philosophy, pairing a strong, lightweight chassis with engines and transmissions designed for fuel efficiency and reduced emissions. There have been two generations of Mazda CX-5, both having optional all-wheel drive. The second-generation Mazda CX-5 debuted in 2017 with sharper styling and new features, including a key fob-activated power tailgate and cylinder deactivation standard from 2018. The CX-5 now featured torque vectoring to help it grip through corners. A 250-horsepower turbocharged engine became available, and a range of tech upgrades were added. These included Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and a 360-degree camera as options. The CX-5's cabin was upgraded with wood trim and new seats featuring Nappa leather, while the 2021 facelift brought revised suspension with improved damping for reduced road noise.
