Five generations of the Audi A4
First-generation Audi A4 cars, model years 1996 to 2001, were based onĀ Volkswagen'sĀ B5 platform and included both sedan andĀ station wagonĀ styles. These early models came standard with front-wheel drive and five-speed manual transmission. The second generation, 2002 to 2004, saw the introduction of a two-doorĀ convertibleĀ Audi A4.
