Five generations of the Audi A4
First-generation Audi A4 cars, model years 1996 to 2001, were based on Volkswagen's B5 platform and included both sedan and station wagon styles. These early models came standard with front-wheel drive and five-speed manual transmission. The second generation, 2002 to 2004, saw the introduction of a two-door convertible Audi A4. Third-generation models, 2005 to 2008, feature slightly larger engines and Bluetooth functionality. A larger, more powerful Audi A4 was introduced in 2009, with top engine power reaching 333 horsepower.
