The second-generation C-Class arrived in 2000 and introduced a hatchback body style to the range before the third generation debuted in 2008. Featuring more angular, aggressive styling, the C-class was powered by a pair of V6 engines, while the AMG C-Class's output rose to a staggering 510 horsepower in its highest "Black Series" configuration with a 6.2-litre V8. The performance continued with the fourth generation's debut in 2015 featuring more rounded, aerodynamic styling, while the redesigned fifth-generation features hybrid powertrains across the entire C-Class range for the first time.
